Privacy Policy

TradieMargin is designed to keep its core business-management records on the user’s device. Quotes, invoices, customers, business settings, expense records and backups are primarily stored locally unless the user deliberately shares or exports them. Marketplace features such as Find a Tradie, Post a Job, Job Feed and verified ratings use TradieMargin’s online services as described below.

Subscription processing

TradieMargin may use Apple In-App Purchase and RevenueCat to offer and verify TradieMargin Pro subscriptions. Apple and RevenueCat may process purchase information, subscription status, product identifiers, transaction information, device/app information required for subscription operation, and an anonymous app user identifier. TradieMargin does not receive the user’s Apple ID password or payment-card details.

Photos and camera

If the user chooses to attach job or expense/receipt photos, TradieMargin may request access to the camera or photo library. Selected images are stored with the relevant local business record and are included in an exported TradieMargin backup if the user creates one.

Camera Measure

If the user chooses Camera Measure, TradieMargin uses the rear camera and the device’s augmented-reality capabilities to place real-world measurement points and calculate distance or area. TradieMargin does not save a camera image as part of Camera Measure and does not intentionally upload AR measurement coordinates.

Voice dictation and microphone

If the user taps Dictate beside a notes field, TradieMargin may request microphone and speech-recognition permission. Microphone audio is used to convert the user’s speech into editable text. TradieMargin does not intentionally persist an audio recording of the dictation. Depending on the device, operating system and available speech-recognition service, audio or speech data may be processed on-device or by the platform provider’s speech-recognition service. The resulting text is stored like a typed local note.

Notifications

If enabled, TradieMargin may schedule local device notifications for quote follow-ups and recurring work. Marketplace users may also opt in to push notifications for events such as a new matching job, a business expressing interest, a customer selecting a business, or a job status change. To deliver Marketplace push notifications, TradieMargin stores an Expo push token linked to the relevant business listing or private customer job. Push tokens are used only for TradieMargin notifications and can become invalid when the app is removed, notification permissions change or the device/provider rotates the token.

Sharing and backups

Business data leaves the device only when the user deliberately shares a quote or invoice PDF, shares an image, exports a TradieMargin backup, or otherwise chooses a destination through the iOS share sheet.

Find a Tradie directory

If you choose to submit a business to the TradieMargin Find a Tradie directory, the business information you nominate for publication may be stored in an online database and displayed publicly on the TradieMargin website and, in future, within the TradieMargin app. Public listing information may include the business name, trade, services, suburb/postcode, areas of work, description, phone, public email, website and social links.

The contact name and review email supplied for administration of a listing are intended for directory administration and are not displayed publicly unless you separately provide the same information as public listing details. Listing submissions may be reviewed, approved, rejected, paused or removed.

Job Feed and job posts

If you post a job through TradieMargin, the job details you provide may be stored online so TradieMargin can match the job with relevant businesses. Job information may include the trade or service required, description, approximate budget, timing and job location. Your customer name, email and phone are stored separately for management of the job and are not displayed in the tradie Job Feed.

Businesses that access the Job Feed may need to confirm ownership of a published directory listing using the listing’s private review email. TradieMargin may store whether a business passed on or expressed interest in a job. When a business expresses interest, the customer may be shown information from that business’s public TradieMargin directory profile.

If a customer selects an interested business for a job, TradieMargin may then provide that selected business with the customer contact details stored for the job so the parties can communicate about the work. Other interested businesses are not provided those private contact details. TradieMargin may store job workflow states such as selected, in progress and completed.

Credentials, licences and clearances

Businesses may add credential categories such as licences, checks, training or insurance together with limited metadata such as jurisdiction, status and expiry date. Public profiles and matching results use only public-safe summary information; TradieMargin does not publicly display private notes, document images or full credential numbers. A Verified status is used only when TradieMargin has reviewed evidence provided through an approved verification process. Self-declared or pending information is labelled accordingly. Verification reflects the evidence reviewed at that time and is not a government guarantee, endorsement or substitute for a customer checking the credential, scope, expiry and legal requirements that apply to the job.

Customers may mark supported credential categories as Required or Preferred when posting a job. TradieMargin may use those selections and a business’s current credential metadata to filter or restrict Job Feed responses. Required/Preferred selections and credential status information are stored with the Marketplace records needed to provide matching and trust features.

Customer email sign-in

Customers may use passwordless email sign-in to access jobs posted with the same email address across devices. Authentication is provided using Supabase Auth. TradieMargin does not require a customer password for this feature. Supabase may process the email address, authentication tokens and technical information necessary to send and validate secure sign-in links. A signed-in customer can only request access to jobs associated with the authenticated email address.

Customer account deletion

A signed-in customer can permanently delete the passwordless customer account from My Posted Jobs → Account & privacy. The deletion flow removes the Supabase customer-auth identity and TradieMargin Marketplace jobs associated with the authenticated email, including private job contact records, uploaded Marketplace job photos, job workflow/interest records and verified reviews attached to those jobs. It also removes customer-block identifiers and support requests matched to that email from TradieMargin’s active application records. If a selected business previously received customer contact details, TradieMargin cannot remove copies independently saved by that business. Limited provider security logs or backups may remain for standard retention periods or where applicable law requires retention.

Verified job ratings

After a marketplace job is completed, the customer and selected tradie may be able to rate each other. Ratings are linked to the completed TradieMargin job so they can be identified as verified-job ratings. Customer ratings of a tradie may contribute to an aggregate rating displayed publicly on the business’s Find a Tradie profile. Tradie ratings of customers may be used as a marketplace reputation signal for future matching or job decisions, but the customer’s name, email address and phone number are not published as part of that reputation score.

Tradie Ideas / Feature Board

If you use TradieMargin's Feature Board, the service may store a randomly generated Feature Board profile identifier in hashed form so it can remember which ideas you voted for and enforce the active-vote limit without requiring your name or email. If you submit a feature suggestion, TradieMargin may store the title, description, selected category, moderation status and the same hashed app-profile identifier. Suggestions remain private while pending moderation and are only displayed to other users if approved.

If you report a Feature Board idea, TradieMargin may store the idea identifier, report reason and a hashed app-profile identifier for abuse prevention and duplicate-report handling. Feature Board data may be retained for product planning, moderation, safety and service integrity. A Feature Board profile may be blocked from submitting or voting if it is used abusively.

Support requests and reports

If you contact TradieMargin through the Support page or report marketplace content, we may store the name and email you provide, the subject and message, related job or listing identifiers, and technical context needed to investigate the request. Support and report records may be retained for a reasonable period for customer service, safety, abuse prevention, disputes and legal obligations.

Data retention

Core TradieMargin app business records such as quotes, invoices, customers and expenses remain designed for local device storage unless the user deliberately shares or exports them. The optional Find a Tradie directory is different: submitted directory listings are stored online so they can be searched and displayed publicly. Directory data may be retained while a listing is active and for a reasonable period after removal where needed for administration, fraud prevention, disputes or legal obligations. Subscription records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their respective policies and legal obligations.

Third-party services

Subscription transactions are processed by Apple. Subscription entitlement management may be provided by RevenueCat. Optional voice dictation uses speech-recognition capabilities supplied by the user’s device/platform and may involve the platform’s speech-recognition service. TradieMargin marketplace and support features may use Supabase to store and serve directory listings, credential summaries, job data, selected job photos, job responses, workflow states, verified ratings, notification subscriptions, Feature Board ideas/votes/reports and support requests. Marketplace push delivery may use Expo push services. Transactional authentication and Marketplace event email may be delivered using Resend. Their own privacy and security terms may apply to information they process.
